University Small Animal Clinic, a CareVet partner, has a fantastic opportunity to join our beautiful remodeled state of the art practice in Odessa, TX! This position offers a six figure salary plus production, a $250,000 bonus package, paid family leave, student loan support and more.

All levels of experience will be considered, but the incoming Veterinarian must be friendly, personable and a team player. About the Team
University Small Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary facility proudly serving Odessa, TX and surrounding communities. Their mission is providing excellent veterinary care and educating clients on responsible pet ownership. In addition to our tenured DVM team members, we have a high support staff to doctor ratio and our team members are trained to assist with surgery, anesthesia monitoring, IV and catheter placement and blood transfusions. The practice is very family friendly and we do not have emergency after hours allowing for a great work/life balance.

Responsibilities
- Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
- Treat and dress wounds
- Perform surgery on animals
- Test for and vaccinate against diseases
- Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
- Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
- Prescribe medication
- Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
- Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
- Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
- Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
- Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
- Strong fondness and understanding of animals
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of animal behavior
- Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
